NICK GILDER

Nick Gilder hit the national stage initially as the front man for the glam rock band Sweeney Todd. Their 1977 hit “Roxy Roller” went #1 and was later covered by The Runaways and Suzi Quatro. “Roxy” was also included in the 2010 feature film The Runaways, starring Dakota Fanning & Kristen Stewart.

Nick scored again the following year with the worldwide #1 "Hot Child In The City." The song broke the record for the most weeks that a single appeared in the Billboard Hot 100. More Top 40 hits followed: “Here Comes The Night’ in 1978 and “You Really Rock Me” in 1979.

Other artists began to notice Nick’s songwriting talent and turned those songs into hits! Pat Benatar had a 1979 hit with “Rated X” from her debut record. Patty Smyth and Scandal took “The Warrior” to the Top 10 in 1984, a song written by Nick and Holly Knight.

More hits would follow for Nick in the 80’s, like “Let Me In” and “Footsteps.” The latter was featured in the original movie soundtrack for the Rob Lowe film Youngblood. “Don’t Walk Away” was another Nick composition that became a hit for Pat Benatar in 1988.

“It's still a kick to sing the songs, and hearing a crowd sing along is truly motivating for me,” says Nick to New Music Express Magazine in a recent interview.

Gilder's songs can also be heard in The Wraith with Charlie Sheen, Barb Wire with Pamela Anderson and in TV series Sex and the City (2000). “Hot Child In The City” was featured in the series premiere of NBC’s SuperStore in 2015.

It’s a powerhouse performance which includes all of these hits, great new material, and crowd faves like “Radar Love” and “Highway Star.” Nick Gilder together with Dave Groves on guitar, Mark Kenny on bass, Frank Baker on drums, and Michael Russell on keyboards are coming to your town!
